The kingfisher has very beautiful blue, orange and cyan colours. It is medium-sized and has a short, rounded body and large head. Its beak is long and ideal for catching fish!
Where and when to spot it
It flies very fast, often just above the surface of waters. In our area we can spot it at small harbours and other seaside locations, mainly in autumn and winter.
